Licenses
Driver's License:
Within 90 days of their arrival new residents
must obtain a South Carolina driver's license.
The fee for the written test is $2.00.
The fee for a learner's permit is $2.50.
The fee for a driver's license is $12.50.
If you have a valid driver's license from any other state it is
not necessary to take the written test.

Vehicle Registration
All private passenger vehicles must be registered
within 30 days after establishing permanent residence.
Registration costs $12.00 plus an additional
$5.00 for obtaining a title.
